Our People
How do we do what we do? Simple. We have the right people with the right knowledge and experience. No company has more people with more air, frame and tension structure experience. When you put Arizon to work on your next project, you’ll work with some of the best our industry has to offer. Here are just a few of the Arizon people who will serve you—people who are making what we do possible for customers all over the world. For more information, contact Arizon.
Jan Ligas, Jr.
In March 2005, Jan joined our company as President. Having spent more than 26 years designing and installing air structures, Jan has earned the respect of the building and construction industry. Jan has been responsible for major air, frame and tension structures worldwide—including the largest air structures in North America and Russia—as a project developer, construction manager, project manager and expert consultant. His knowledge has guided the design criteria in turnkey operations for major colleges and universities, National Football League teams, municipalities, commercial and industrial clients, and private businesses. He’s contributed to many unique and challenging projects, ranging from the smallest to the largest air structures in the world—some exceeding five acres in size. See a 26-year history of key projects in which Jan has been involved: Thomas J. Soehngen, M.E.
For more than 16 years, Tom has engineered and designed thousands of mechanical systems that pressurize, heat, cool and ventilate buildings and structures used by cities, states and countries in the United States and Russia and by companies like Exxon Mobil, BP, Conoco, IBM, Gazprom, Merck, Pfizer, Glaxo SmithKline, Amgen, the New York Times, Anheuser-Busch, Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, Phillip Morris and Miller Brewing Company. Tom was responsible for the HVAC equipment design for the largest tire plant in the world, Bridgestone-Firestone’s tire plant, General Motors’ Cadillac assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan, General Motors’ Hummer manufacturing plants and distribution centers throughout the Unites States, and thousands of other mechanical projects. Tom directs an engineering and operations staff that is responsible for the safety, structural design, indoor air quality, heating, air-conditional and inflation systems for all Arizon structures, including sports and recreation structures, industrial/commercial, government and others. Under Tom’s direction, Arizon operates the only Underwriting Laboratories (UL) approved testing laboratory in the air structures industry which tests systems. See a 16-year history of key projects in which Tom has been involved: Nickolai Gomazov
In June 2006, Nick joined Arizon Companies as General Director of Arizon Companies of Russia. For more than 22 years, Nick was involved in Project Management for a number of projects of recreational and industrial facilities in Russia, East Europe and China. Nick’s experience includes years of mechanical engineering, structural engineering analysis, and construction management of huge Russian projects. In the last 5+ years, Nick has been responsible for sales, project management, engineering and design of major multifunctional sports and industrial facilities using air-supported roofs and HVAC equipment in Russia. He was responsible for all stages of the projects from proposal to final installation. Nick brings American technologies of air structures into Russia and adopts/transforms them to meet all Russian loads and safety codes. See a 22-year history of key projects in which Nick has been involved: David Stainsby
David has 20+ years experience in the fabric industry with 10+ years experience in the design and patterning of air structures. David’s background includes extensive experience in air structure field service, installation, repair and dismantling, manufacturing supervision, and project management. Beginning as a draftsman in 1981, David quickly gained knowledge and experience of the air structure product. Soon he was involved in field service and installation. He traveled domestically and internationally, installing air structures across the United States as well as Korea and Japan. David worked with project engineers to develop, design and manufacture prototype structures for multiple contracts for the U.S. Navy and Air Force. Major projects that David was involved in include the installation of a tension structure on the flight deck of the U.S. S. Lexington aircraft carrier. David worked on the design build for the renovation of the flight deck and catapult system on the carrier. He was the project coordinator between the manufacturing company, the naval administration and multiple unions involved at the Naval Shipyard in Philadelphia, PA. He also worked on the design and installation of a tension shelter used as a storage facility for aircraft fuel tanks. This custom designed shelter included special consideration for light emission and humidity conditions. David was also the project manager for many other projects, including Caddyshack Golf Dome in Amherst, New York; Marina Del Ray, a tension structure for boat slips located in Fahardo, Puerto Rico; and Hilton Head YMCA Pool Enclosure, located on Hilton Head Island. Tim Scharf
Tim is a 12-year veteran manufacturing executive in charge of production teams exceeding 100 qualified radio frequency and aluminum conventional welders, assemblers, designers and engineers. Gess Tukin
Gess is a Project Engineer that manages the start up of each Arizon installation. He started Air Structures Equipment for Gazprom in the Yamal Peninsula (Siberia, Russia), the largest oil and gas operation in the world. Dave Fenton
A former Illinois School Board member, Dave successfully supported the first Illinois High School-approved air structure. Jacques Du Pont
Jacques Du Pont brings to Arizon Corporation 29 years of mechanical design experiences of which the last 13 were in designing and project managing the construction and renovation of major sports facilities around the world. He was involved in the design of the New York Jets and Detroit Lions Practice Facilities and the 1998 renovation of the Pontiac Silverdome, all of which are air supported structures. He was a design consultant on the Edward Jones Dome, the Toronto Skydome, the Osaka Dome, the Alerus Center at the University of North Dakota, the Athletics Alumni Center at the University of Houston and many others.
