St. Louis, MO - Arizon, designer and manufacturer of air, frame and tension structures, announced the opening of its new manufacturing and operations facility in the Tri-City Regional Port District on the Mississippi River in Madison County, Illinois!
On Sunday morning, Arizon installation technicians inflated its air supported structure, which sits on 6 acres of an International Port's Industrial Park and stands 7 stories high. The manufacturing space encompasses an area that exceeds the size of a Soccer or Football Stadium along with associated warehouse, office, technical, testing and distribution facilities. The inflation process of Arizon's Dome took approximately 3 hours and involved approximately 15 technicians and site laborers. The entire project was completed in 97 days at a cost of less than $17 per square foot of manufacturing, warehouse and office space. The manufacturing plant is located in close proximity to interstate highways, railroad spurs and international ports for shipment throughout North America and the rest of the world.
Arizon is the leading manufacturer of air supported structures which are popular with sport complexes (soccer, football, tennis, swimming, etc.), manufacturing, warehousing, and a wide variety of other industrial, commercial and architectural purposes. This popularity is partially a result of Arizon's quick manufacturing and installation plus its low turn-key cost. Arizon is the first and only manufacturer of air supported structures to manufacture its products in an air supported structure of this magnitude. Arizon's "Heat Shield" fabric is manufactured with proprietary coatings for long life and resistance to UV, environmental and other sources that create building maintenance and depreciation issues.
"Interior construction of Arizon's management, engineering and administrative offices as well as installation and setup of its manufacturing operation is expected to take approximately 6 to 8 weeks with completion in time for our scheduled grand opening", said Tom Soehngen, Vice President-Engineering of Arizon AirStructures Worldwide, LLC. "Our new facility is impressive. In short time, once construction ends, I believe our facility will be an outstanding showcase of a complex that will represent St. Louis and the entire Mid-Western region well as well as Arizon Companies as the leading edge manufacturer of air, frame and tension structures."
"Our air structure complex provides a perfect clear span space that meets our manufacturing process needs", says David Stainsby, Plant Manager. "Air supported structures require no columns or posts and are the best cost alternative building that meets all code requirements like any other building". Arizon expects to employ more than 150 people in their new Madison County, Illinois site.
